About your coach

Hi, I'm Jea.

NASM Certified Personal Trainer, former yoga teacher, recovering perfectionist. I used to wake up in pain, binge every evening, and believe consistency just wasn't in me.

This page is the long version of why I coach the way I do.

A card from a client. The kind of thing that keeps a coach going.

Chapter 01

The injury that started everything

A herniated disc doesn't just hurt your back. Mine made every day feel like my body was fighting me. I gained about 15 pounds, ate for comfort, and got stuck between bingeing and restricting. I hated how I looked and, worse, how I felt.

I'd try to fix EVERYTHING at once, get overwhelmed within two weeks, and fall right back into the same patterns. If you've lived that loop, I don't have to describe it.

Chapter 02

The gym, imperfectly but repeatedly

What finally worked wasn't a miracle program. It was showing up at a pace I could sustain, and learning why each piece mattered. My pain eased. My body changed. Seventeen pounds, eventually.

The bigger shift was in my head. Food became fuel instead of a battleground, and I started believing I could do hard things.

I found a way to meet myself where I was and reach my goals without pressure or shame. That sentence is now the backbone of how I coach.

Same person, same kitchen-sink honesty. Drag to compare.

Chapter 03

The certification I never thought I could get

Studying for the NASM CPT scared me. It was one of those things I'd quietly decided was for other people. I did it anyway. Passed, certified, and stacked it on years of teaching yoga.

Now I coach women through the exact shift I lived: out of pain, out of the binge-guilt loop, into strength that serves your real life.

Because of my back, I'll always train you for function as much as looks. How you move at 60 matters as much as how you look at 30.

How I coach

Compassion first.
Education always.

I refuse to keep you in the dark. You'll always know why you're doing what you're doing, because understanding is how you keep your results long after our six months.

If a client remembered one thing about working with me, I'd want it to be this: I always showed up, and I gave her the tools to succeed.

Things you will never hear from me

  • Cut out entire food groups
  • Program 7 training days a week
  • Change everything at once
  • Keep you in the dark about why you're doing what you're doing
  • Use shame as a motivator, ever

Off the clock

The human behind the check-ins.

Jea making a silly face in the car after a workout
  • Lives in Pittsburgh, PA with her fiancé, two cats, and one certifiably crazy dog
  • Fantasy novels, the ocean, campfires & deep conversations
  • Yoga teacher before personal trainer, so mobility is non-negotiable
  • Will absolutely hype you up over a check-in win like it's the Olympics

Humor level: enough to keep check-ins fun, never enough to make fitness a joke. Your goals get taken seriously. You get cheered for loudly.

If my story sounds anything like yours, let's talk. The application takes about five minutes, and I personally read every single one.
